This copy INSCRIBED by Lawrence Clark Powell in ink on the colophon in ink, "Copy out of series for W M Spackman / LC Powell / Tucson 1979" Also laid in is a handwritten note of University of Arizona stationary to novelist W. M. Spackman ("An Armful of Warm Girl" et al) in ink' "5-7-79 / Dear Spackman--They screwed up ;the Monet blue on the paperback cover. I want you to have this hardbound with the proper blue! / L C P" Powell's first novel,written in 1941, rewritten and finally published when Powell was 70. A Near Fine copy with a bumped corner, in a Very Good or better somewhat edgeworn dust jacket, now in a clear mylar protective jacket. A nice literary association copy.
