Buckley Jr, the son of Chris Buckley, the "Blind Boss" of San Francisco, and bears his name in pencil at the front pastedown ("C. A. Buckley Jr/ Fairmont Hotel SF."). Pencil edit at p. 11, completing the name of LDS founder Joseph Smith. A "savage abridgement" by Robin Lampson (the author of "Laughter Out Of the Ground") of Carr's 1891 memoirs, keeping the best part of Carr's recollections of the mines. One of 500 unnumbered copies designed and printed by Wilder Bentley and his wife Ellen (Apprentice) at The Archetype Press, Berkeley, in July 1936.
