THE UNCERTAIN JOURNEY
LEWIS, Oscar

New York Alfred A. Knopf 1945 New York: Alfred A Knopf, 1945. Cloth First Edition Very Good in Very Good DJ 254 pages. INSCRIBED by author Oscar Lewis in ink to San Francisco bibliophile Theodore (Ted) Lilienthal in a pleasing style (see photograph), "For: Ted Lilienthal/ Greetings and regards from /Sincerely Oscar Lewis Sept. 5, '45". Ted Lilienthal was a philanthropist and co-owner of the Gelber-Lilienthal book shop in San Francisco. At one time, he produced the works of Robinson Jeffers on handset printing equipment in his own home. He died in France in 1972. Some edgewear to this copy, but at least a Very Good copy in a well-worn dustwrapper with some chipping, particularly at the spine-ends, now in a clear mylar protective jacket. A nice San Francisco association copy. Inscribed By Author. Always FREE SHIPPING via media mail to any United States address.
