First printing with the table of contents corresponding with listings in Currey & Kruska. Accepted first issue, matching all the required points, including frontispiece phototype depicting no one seated behind the horse and a cabin without a lean-to. This copy contains only one artotype printed by Bierstadt (Some copies of the First Edition contain a second plate by Bierstadt at page 470; no priority established). J. M. Hutchings (1820-1902) was a pioneer of tourism in the Yosemite Valley.
