Hollywood: 1940's. First Edition. This is an ORIGINAL AUTOGRAPHED PHOTOGRAPH of Al Jolson. SIGNED by Al Jolson in ink at the upper left haNd corner, "Sincerely Al Jolson". Printed on double weight deluxe stock. 5" x 7". Matte finish. Al Jolson was a huge star on stage and known as "The World's Greatest Entertainer". He brought sound to the screen with "The Jazz Singer" in 1927. His movie career was not as successful as his stage career, although he did enjoy some success in radio. He entertained the troops in World War Two. His autobiographical film, "The Jolson Story" in 1950 brought Jolson a surge in popularity, including recordings. This was followed by "Jolson Sings Again" in 1949. He entertained the troops in Korea in 1950. He returned from overseas exhausted and died in San Francisco in 1950.
