Illustrated Cloth. 142 pp. SIGNED/INSCRIBED by George Sterling in ink to his San Francisco landlords on a front free endpaper, "For Grace and Allan from their sincere friend, admirer and boarder, George. San Francisco, Mch. 27th, 1908." Also SIGNED by Sterling in ink on the title page. A PHOTOGRAPH of Sterling, probably in Carmel, is tipped in at the front pastedown. Blue cloth, with silver front cover and spine titling. 5 3/8" x 8". A later edition of Sterling's first book. Poet/Playwright George Sterling (1869-1926) was a resident member of early Carmel's bohemian group and a friend of Jack London, Mary Austin and Robinson Jeffers. His later years were spent in San Francisco, where he died by his own hand in 1926. Mattila A1c.
