Printed by Taylor & Taylor, San Francisco. Cloth-backed gray boards. White laid Fabriano handmade paper. Small Christmas presentation label affixed to front pastedown. Printed photograph of Sterling with facsimile signature affixed to front free endpaper, with prior owner's penciled note. Laid in: (1) Letter dated October 22, 1951 from Goodspeed's Book Shop (signed in ink by George Goodspeed) to Wheaton Brewer, San Francisco, that this book, about which Mr. Brewer inquired in 1940, is now available; (2) Article from the December 21, 1915 San Francisco Examiner concerning the death of Frank Unger, quoting a poem by George Sterling; (3) A clipping for the June 15, 1931 "Biblio-Ana" publication concerning George Sterling; (4) A dealer catalog clipping listing some Sterling books for sale. Poet/Playwright George Sterling (1869-1926) was a resident member of early Carmel's bohemian group and a friend of Jack London, Mary Austin and Robinson Jeffers.
