It is an oval photograph, measuring 2 3/4" x 5 1/4", mounted on a black board measuring 5 1/4" x 9". The board is blind-stamped "Moore / Nevada City / Grass Valley". Nevada City is the county seat of Nevada County, California and is 4 miles from Grass Valley, California; both in the Northern Mines area of California's Gold Country. The young man looks to be in his twenties, dressed in a stylish suit and tie, with what appears to be a lodge pin on his lapel.
