SIGNED/INSCRIBED by George Sterling in ink on a front free endpaper to his sister: "To Isabelle, from her loving brother, George. / Carmel, California, January 7th, 1909." Sterling also SIGNED the title page in ink. First Edition, First State (Chalice on front cover, per Matilla, A4. ). Red cloth. 5 3/8" x 8". In addition to the poems, this book includes "The Triumph of Bohemia", the play given on July 27, 1907 at the Bohemian Grove, Sonoma County, as the 30th Annual midsummer High Jinks of the Bohemian Club. Poet/Playwright George Sterling (1869-1926) was a resident member of early Carmel's bohemian group and a friend of Jack London, Mary Austin and Robinson Jeffers.
