This is an ORIGINAL photograph of movie star BETTE DAVIS with her lawyer JERRY GEISLER appearing in the Santa Monica branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court, where she won custody of her daughter (now B. D. Hyman) in her divorce proceedings against her estranged husband, William Grant Sherry. If celebrites had legal troubles in Los Angeles in most of the twentieth century, Jerry Geisler was the lawyer to retain. Among countless others, Geisler represented Clarence Darrow, Charlie Chaplin, Errol Flynn, Ben Siegel and Marilyn Monroe. Judging from Bette Davis' appearence in this photograph, she had ample reason for divorce. Black and white; glossy finish. 7 1/2" x 9". Informational snipe at lower margin.
