Edition limited to 450 un-numbered copies. Illustrated, including frontispiece from a photograph of Lillie Hitchcock Coit in fireman's garb and helmet. Cloth-backed orange boards, with a drawing of Coit's fire helmet and signature on the front cover. 11" x 7 1/4". Hand-set type. Paper spine label. A collection of memories of the colorful life of one of San Francisco's great characters, Lillie Hitchcock Coit by her friend, author Floride Green. Coit was a great fan of firemen and was made an Honorary Member of Knickerbocker Engine Company No. 5. She always added a "5" to her signature.
