Hollywood: 1929. First Edition. This is an ORIGINAL KEYBOOK photograph of actor VICTOR McLAGLEN in a United States Marine Corps campaign cover (with USMC Emblem) and the point of chevrons on his right sleeve.From the 1929 pre-Code film, "THE COCK-EYED WORLD", which also starred Edmund Lowe. This was a sequel to their successful film,"What Price Glory".
Victor McLaglen (1886-1959) was born in England and was a prize fighter early in his career. He fought Heavyweight Champion Jack Johnson in 1906 in Victoria, B. C. (Six rounds; no decision exhibition). He played character roles, notably in films directed by John Ford. He won the 1935 Academy Award for Best Actor for "The Informer". He was nominated for the 1952 Best Supporting Actor Oscar for "The Quiet Man”. This is an 8" x 10" black and white Keybook ORIGINAL photograph, on glossy double-weight paper stock with two fastener holes at the top. A Fine copy, now in a clear 4mil mylar protective envelope.
