This is an ORIGINAL Report to the Shareholders of the Spring Valley Company Ltd., San Francisco, California, for the year ended December 31, 1948. 5 pages. Stapled wrappers. 6" x 9 1/4". Additionally included in the lot are (1) Mailing envelope dated 3/11/49 addressed to C. W. Chapman, Executor of Will of Nellie E. Chapman, Nevada City, California; (2) Dividend transmittal to shareholders dated 4/15/1941; (3) Three (3) meeting notice penny postcards (remember them?) dated 1946, 1948 and 1949. The Spring Valley Company was a private company that provided water to San Francisco. After many years, it was sold to the City, and this report mentions the delay in liquidation of the Company "...because of matters beyond their control". The original shares were owned by Nellie E. Chapman, DDS, of Nevada City. Dr. Chapman was the first woman licensed as a dentist in the State of California.The report is Near Fine (rust around staples) and other items are Fine, all now in a clear 4mil mylar protectiove envelope.
