This is an ORIGINAL booklet entnitled "CALIFORNIA THEATRE WEEKLY MAGAZINE & PROGRAM", published for the week of January 9, 1921. Illustrated including advertisements. Gold stapled pictorial wrappers. 16 pages. California Theatre was located at "Main at 8th" (810 South Main Street) in Los Angeles. The theatre was leased to Samuel Goldwyn in 1919 and advertised as the "Home of Goldwyn Pictures". The California Theatre employed a full concert orchestra, and each week featured a new complete program with an orchestra concert, stage acts, organ number and a silent movie. The feature movie for the subject week of January 9, 1921 was "Blind Wives", starring Estelle Taylor, Marc MacDermott and Harry Sothern. The booklet also contains a double center page advertisement for the following week's film, "Bunty Pulls The Strikngs", starring Leatrice Joy, Rayhmond Hatton and Russell Simpson. There is a single page ad for "The Love Light" starring Mary Pickford, starting the week of Januaruy 23rd.
