Washington DC: United States Marine Corps, 1917. First Edition. This is an ORIGINAL WWI poster, titled "WALKING JOHN" for United States Marine Corps recruiting. The poster artist was Sidney Reisenberg. The poster has been professionally linen-backed for preservtion and ease of handling. The iconic image is that of a U. S. Marine marching Naval Yard guard duty in full period dress blues and carrying a 1903 Springfield rifle at right shoulder arms. The image measures 30" x 40" with a 3/4" white border.
