Cloth with gilt cover and spine titling. 6" x 8 1/2". Custom slipcase. Nunnally Johnson (1897-1977) was a prolific screenwriter, director, producer and playwright. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay for his adaptation of John Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath. Johnson wrote the screenplay for The House of Rothschild (1934) which starred George Arliss. Arliss (1868-1946) won an Oscar for Best Actor for Disraeli, in which he played the title role. Written in the inimitable Fowler style. A rare association copy. A Near Fine Copy (gilt lettering somewhat oxidized) in a Very Good dust jacket (price clipped; minor edgewear at spine ends; chips at top of front cover; spine slightly darkened), now in a clear mylar protective sleeve and custom slipcase.
