Chums began as a weekly paper. After several forms, it began in 1934 a an annual book. Publication ended in 1941 due to wartime paper shortages. A rich compendium of stories, factual articles, verse and miscellneous illustrated material of interest primarily to boys. Included are several book-length adventure stories (e.g. "The Gold Trail" and "Red Falcon"). Often collected for the period artwork and as examples of pre-World War popular material.
